All conversions use internationally recognized conversion factors based on SI units, NIST standards, and ISO definitions. We do not use rounded approximations for commonly-misused conversions (for example, 1 inch = 25.4 mm exactly, not approximately 25 mm). For data storage, we clearly distinguish between decimal prefixes (KB = 1,000 bytes) and binary prefixes (KiB = 1,024 bytes).
